Let´s see if I can answer Suziey´s questions without blowing it completely. Ready? Ready. Okay, everyone. Time to take a deep breath. This is gonna be fun (fingers crossed)

1. Would you rather travel back in time and alter history or go to the future and find out how and when you die and why?

I´d definitely go back in time and change a few things. I´m not one to regret my choices but I would love to go back and reword arguments / try not to hurt people as much as I´ve done. I´m a very proud person and can lash out when stuck in an ugly situation.

2. What songs would the soundtrack of your life consist of?

When I was a teenager I used to say “All by myself” was the complete soundtrack of my life ( yes. I was a dramatic little turd ). Now, I have a colorful list of everything. Each of these songs represents me. My life.

  • Bad Ideas from Alle Farben ( This is my life anthem )
  • The Middle – Jimmy Eat World ( So my life )
  • That´s Not My Name – The Ting Tings ( Because many people call me by nicknames and to this day, have no clue what my name is. The guessing games at parties were and still are always fun. )

3. If you woke up tomorrow in somebody else’s body, who would you want to be and what would you do?

Uuhm… * scratching head * Not sure. I´ve never thought about this before. Thinking about it now- I wouldn´t want to go through a body swap. I have enough on my plate as it is- Changing bodies would only bring more problems and I´m too exhausted to deal with new issues. But if a body swap was to take place then I sure as hell hope it´s with someone who has a nice fluffy plush bed.

3. When was the last time you binge watched a show and what was it?

I´m currently binge watching Friends.. for the hundredth time. And before that it was Game Of Thrones. Next up- Game of Thrones ( mainly because I think husbutt still doesn´t understand it. HAHAHA )

4. What is the best compliment you’ve ever gotten?

From my girls- “You´re the best Mommy.” That´s all I need. Although I´m their only mom they still feel the need to point out that I´m their best. Lol. Like they have much to compare with. 🙂 Still warms my heart. ❤

5. Have you met any celebrities before, and if so, who?

Ooooh, probably. But I belong to those people who´re too ignorant to notice a celeb even if he/she were tied to my back.

6. What books would you recommend to someone that says they hate reading?

I wouldn´t recommend books to those people. Lol. In fact… I´d do a convo swap, pull someone else ( who´s just walking by ) into the convo and say “Oops. Won´t you look at the time. I gotta head out.” And elegantly make a run for it.

7. Which fictional character would be the most boring to meet?

Most of Jane Austen’s Heroes.

8. What is your favorite word?

Fuck.

9. If you had a boat, what bookish name would you give it?

Bookish name as in title or character name? A title I´d give my boat would be `The Mighty Storm` which is from The Mighty Storm by Samantha Towle. And a character name for my boat would be Pigeon from `A Beautiful Disaster`by Jamie McGuire

10. What would be the title of your autobiography?

Nap Time. Give Me 5 More Minutes. Leave Me Alone. I Survived. Not My Fault. It´s All His Fault. I Wasn´t Paid Enough.

11. What is the one question that you absolutely hate being asked?

Omg. This question is made for me! I get asked the same stupid thing every-damn-time by people who I believe are fairly clever but act like total idiots when then ask that ONE question.

“Are you wearing contact lenses?”

Hmm… Would it be wise to wear contact lenses when I wear glasses? Have you seen how thick my glasses are? I mean- I wear them all the damn long time. Night and day. You´ve never seen me without them because if I don´t wear them I couldn´t see you. I´d be talking to a tree instead of you! OH! You´re talking about my eye color? So, gray can´t be natural? Is that what you´re saying?

That´s how the convo inside my head goes. Instead, the convo goes more like this:

Person:  ( squinting eyes and coming close to my face) Are you wearing contact lenses?

Me: ( having the convo above with myself) No. I have these babies on for a real reason. Why?

Person: I don´t know. Your eye color..Is that gray? ( sounding like I just escaped the Zoo )

Me: ( wanting to run away ) Yeah. I know. Sorry. They´re real.

Okay. Don´t get me wrong. It should be flattering when someone asks me if I´m wearing contact lenses. And sometimes it is ( depending on the person, of course ) but most just look at me ( when they´re close enough ) like I´m some abnormal species. It pisses me off. To tell you the truth… My eyes are blue with just a gray-ish shade that have a weird snowflake pattern. That´s all. Not my fault. Go to my mom and complain. She´ll give you a full blown run down on where I got the color from and who MIGHT get it in the future. Meeh. I´m just fed up. Ignore me. Lol.

Thank you, again, Suziey from Of All the Books in All the Libraries ❤

The NOPE Book Tag

Thank you, Suzie @ Of All the Books in All the Libraries for spontaneously inviting me to join the NOPE book tag!

After reading her brilliant list of NOPEs I quickly figured out we´re book NOPE twins, as my list looks similar to hers. But since I can´t really add ALL the books I find NOPE worthy I´ll just stick to the one´s I blog ( or, will blog ) about.

Get your knickers in the right place because this is going to be a LONG ride.

( NOTE: Apologies for the possible book hate. When it comes to NOPE books I tend to be a litte opinionated passionate. If your favorite book is among my list then remember, it´s not you. It´s the book. x )

These are books I literally found no love for.

NOPE. ending

A book ending that made you go NOPE, either in denial, rage or simply because the ending was crappy.

revolutionary road

That ending. NOPE. Not only was the story a little depressing it made me feel like someone baked a huge cheese cake and ate at it bit by bit until there was only one piece left. The end felt like that last piece of cheese cake… Being inhaled in an unlovable way. To this day, I refuse to watch the movie as I´m sure the TV wouldn´t stay intact.

Don´t get me wrong. I knew what I was getting into. But knowing a story before reading it yourself isn´t exactly the same thing. Having read through the dreadful marriage Frank and April went through I got all worked up and for what? To get more worked up? No, thank you.

Big Fat NOPE.

NOPE. protagonist

A main character you dislike and drives you crazy.
gone girl

I fully agree with Suzie´s NOPE protagonist ( Briony from Atonement ). That kid deserved to be locked away ( preferably in a room below a basement ) for crewing up so many people´s lives. But my NOPE protagonist award goes to Amy Dunne from `Gone Girl`. That woman was so bat-shit crazy. She drove ME crazy with her thoughts and actions. An absolute NOPE for me. She is also the only book character I could rant about for ages. I still, to this day, can´t believe I didn´t DNF this book.

NOPE. series

A series that turned out to be a huge pile of NOPE after you´ve invested all of that time and energy on it.

after series

I have many series that are NOPE worthy but this one takes the cake for me. `After`by Anna Todd. This series even beats ACOTAR, and that really does say a lot. I´m sure no series will ever beat this one off the NOPE. series list. reviews for book #1-#5 here

There is so much wrong with this series. Or, I´m definitely too old to appreciate the awesomeness this series has. Or no. Wait. I have standards. Oops. I´ve forgotten about those. Yeah. Even though I´ve screwed down on my own book standards this series still makes #1 on my Nope list.

NOPE. pairing

A “ship” you don´t support.

cersei and jamie

Now, there´s a ship I don´t support. I love Cersei and Jaime Lannister. Both are fantastic figures in the Game of Thrones series.  I just don´t love them together.

NOPE. plot twist

A twist you didn´t see coming and didn´t like.

I´m with Suzie on this one. Didn´t like the twist.

In fact- I didn´t like the book.gone girl

NOPE. genre

A genre you will never read.

I truly have never given this any thought at all because I read most genres. Some genres I enjoy more and some less. But if I have to pick one off the top of my hat then I´d go with Caveman romance. ( Do not question caveman romance. The book bestie Mirjam recommended a caveman romance years ago and I still can´t stop laughing. A genre that will never win me over. ) Nope. Nope. Nope.

NOPE. format

A book format you hate and avoid buying until it comes out in a different edition.

I´m confused. Aren´t there already many different editions for certain formats?

NOPE. trope

A trope that makes you go NOPE.

Broken Heroes in romance novels. Seriously. Seriously? What´s with all the constant

“I´m too fucked up.” crap? If you´re that fucked then I advise THERAPY!! AND STAY THERE FOR A LONG TIME!

NOPE. recommendation

A book recommendation that is constantly pushed at you, that you simply refuse to read it.

`The Fault In Our Stars` by John Green. I can´t begin to tell you how many times this book cover has been shoved at me and how often blogger friends have recommended this read. Why would I want to read something sad? As in, `The Fault In Our Stars`sad?!The fault in our stars

Besides, I accidentally watched the movie. And that was awful ( I will never forget husbands face when he walked in on me watching that movie. He looked so…lost. Even bought me flowers the next day because he didn´t know how to deal with an ugly sobbing me.

Nope. The movie was enough. Not going to ever read this book.

NOPE. cliché

A cliché or writing pet peeve that always makes you roll your eyes.

virgin

Virgins in romance novels. Spare me.

NOPE. love interest

A love interest that´s not worth being one.

Gideon Cross, from the Crossfire series written by Sylvia Day. PLEASE…. He´s many things but not worth being a love interest.

NOPE. book

A book that shouldn´t have existed.

Sophie´s Choice by William Styron. I even refuse to talk about it.

Sophies choice

NOPE. villain

A villain you would hate to cross.

Definitely the White Witch from `The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe`. She´s a classic villain but a mean AF one, at it. I wouldn´t want to cross her path. Not in this or any other universe. Who freezes Narnia, for crying out loud?!white witch

NOPE. death

A character death that still haunts you.

ned

I will never get over this one. If only he had stayed in Winterfell.

NOPE. author

An author you had a bad experience reading and have decided to quit.

I normally don´t like to NOPE an author, as they´re all probably a bunch of lovely people but…… (!!!!!!!!) I´m going to go with Tarryn Fisher. While the author might have some great story ideas her writing is ( even for my taste ) just too pushy and in-your-face. Sadly, also in the most tacky and insensitive ways possible. I know, I know. The author wants to make a point and have a loud voice in the book community. But that idea of the author just bounced right off me. I find the author´s writing terrible. As if she´s writing with anger instead of passion ( because there´s a fine line between passion and anger, which the author long over stepped, in my opinion ) `Bad Mommy` was supposed to be her finest book. The praises I´ve heard before I read it were as loud as any fog horn. The end result? Not worth my time and money. None of the books I tried reading from the author were. Hence the reason why I just gave up on trying to find the same beauty everyone else seems to see in the author´s work.

So, that´s it.

Mucho Mucho Thanks, Suzie! I had such a blast! ❤

The Versatile Blogger Award

Woop woop! Guess what, people? I´ve been nominated!

Thank you Of All the Books in All the Libraries for the nomination! It´s not everyday a Versatile Blogger Award flies my way ❤

I´m floored. I´m flashed. And… well, I´m just excited to tag alone. 🙂

Let´s talk about the rules ( because nothing works without rules, right?)

Rules

  • If you are nominated, you’ve been awarded the Versatile Blogger Award

  • Thank the person who gave you this award

  • Include a link to their blog

  • Select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly

  • Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award

  • Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself

Here goes nothing.

7 Non – Useful Fun Facts About Myself

1) I´m Bilingual. No wait. I´m multilingual ( is that even a thing?) Anyway – I speak quite a few languages. The fluent ones are: English ( Native ), German ( Because I kind of need to understand my hubs and kids ), Spanish ( I blame Mallorca ). I can also speak some French and enough of every other language to order food and drinks and ask for directions. Can you guess how much fun it is writing reviews? It´s no fun at all because I think in a few languages at the same time. The struggle is real.

2) I´m the world champion at sleeping ANYWHERE. Airports, clubs, birthday parties, park benches… You name it! What else does a girl do when she´s tired, right? LOL

3) A long time ago I was at a wine fest. I woke up the next morning I thought I had died and gone to Heaven because the first thing I saw was a huge branch just inches from my face. The truth was –  I had somehow managed to find a wine shed that sold wine, climbed up on the roof and took a nap there. Nevermind the fact that I wore a cowboy hat that wasn´t mine. ( yes. I had 1 – 9 wine glasses that night ) I never went to another wine fest after that.

4) I´m terrified of the ocean. Weird, because all my life I´ve lived near large waters but can´t go in. The ocean is almost exclusively inhabited by things designed to kill you… I can´t do it. I value my life far too much. That´s coming from someone who´s  from Florida.

5) I´m a professional car singer and dancer! Especially when `The Sun Always Shines On Tv`from a- ha is on the radio.

There´s no stopping me. I play the imaginary keyboard, drums and a complete           orchestra while driving! ( because it´s the only time I´m convinced I can. Haha) I´m told the sight is very dramatic.

6) Harry Potter is not my friend. I´ve tried. I really did. Mirjam, my book bestie, had some pretty convincing points as to WHY I should read HP. But I couldn´t get passed book #1. In fact, I had a hard time finishing the first book. I couldn´t even stay awake while watching the movies. I gave up after the 3rd try.

7) Right after the birth of my first child, I went in the baby room to get my kid and accidentally rolled out the wrong kid. I looked into the cribs and thought ” THAT ONE! That´s my baby.” pointing at the cute bundle and rolled her out. It wasn´t until I looked at the name tag and saw the kids name was Fransiska. Embarrassed, I rolled the kid back and found mine. ( I was 25 and all the babies somehow looked alike. I didn´t know any better).

That´s it, folks. That´s all I´ve got. Totally tough but I made it. 7 things about me you definitely can learn from.

Thank you, again, Suziey Bravo @ Of All the Books in All the Libraries for the tag. ❤ ❤

Now for my own nominees…. I´m not going to tag 10 because I know many do not appreciate being tagged.
